"As a team we did the job"

Skipper Justin Tipuric has praised the team effort that saw the Ospreys through to victory over the Cardiff Blues on Saturday evening.

The 21-year old led the Ospreys for just the second time in the 29-7 win, and speaking after the game, he said that it had been pleasing to see a youthful team stepping up to the mark.

He said:

Its always nice to get one over Welsh rivals, but to be honest Im a bit gutted that we didnt get the bonus point. I thought the boys were outstanding today. As a forward, the scrum was phenomenal.

Weve worked on our scrum all week, and for the boys to come out on top with the ball in hand at that big scrum in the second half, was something special. I didnt expect when I looked around to see the scrum half with the ball in his hand. I couldnt believe it to be honest!

It was an opportunity today for boys to put their hands up and a few of them did, definitely. They put a marker down. We said before the game that it was a chance to do that, and we did it as a team. Its difficult to pinpoint names, but as a team, we did the job.

To play for the Ospreys is a great honour, to lead the boys on the field is something special. They give you a great backing, and any little help you need there are experienced boys talking to you.

Weve got a chance of progressing if we win against Wasps next week, definitely, so hopefully well get a good crowd down at the Brewery Field to cheer us on. Its a chance to get into the semi-finals.
