South Wales Evening Post signs up for third year

Wales’ largest selling newspaper, the South Wales Evening Post, will again feature on the region’s jersey in the coming season after reconfirming its support for the Ospreys as official media partner

The paper’s logo will appear between the shoulders on the back of the shirt - which is also Wales’ bigger seller - giving the relationship a visible presence for a third consecutive season.

With average daily sales of 28,500, a readership in excess of 100,000 every day, and over 60,000 unique visitors every day to their website, the South Wales Evening Post remains the most popular newspaper in Wales.

South Wales Evening Post Editor, Jonathan Roberts, said:

“The Evening Post is proud to provide comprehensive coverage of all things Ospreys – from reporting on performances on the field, to the many community initiatives the region is involved with off it. The success of this coverage is in no small part down to the proactive approach taken by the Ospreys management to work collaboratively with us and other partners to identify story opportunities and we owe the players and staff a huge thanks for regularly making themselves available for interviews and pictures despite a busy work schedule.

“We look forward to continuing this support throughout what we hope will be a successful season for our region.”

The Post’s Commercial Director, Paul Jenkins, added:

“The South Wales Evening Post is delighted to continue our partnership with the Ospreys. having worked closely with the region since its inception in 2003. We have some unique promotions and initiatives planned together and look forward to supporting the Ospreys in the forthcoming season.”

Yarnie Guthrie, Ospreys Commercial Manager, said:

“This is fantastic news for both Ospreys Rugby and the South Wales Evening Post. As two major symbols of the local community we share common values and aims, and are natural partners.

“Like us, they have had to adapt to a challenging and fast changing business environment but continue to lead the way in their field. Both organisations are committed to representing this region and share an outlook that working together with other key local businesses will enable us to deliver even greater benefits to the community.

“The South Wales Evening Post has a well earned reputation for honesty and reliability, is a valued source of local news and supporter of local causes, and we look forward to working closely with them during what promises to be an exciting season for all concerned with the Ospreys.

“A new European competition and changes to the qualification process via the GUINNESS PRO12 means every game matters, while the matchday experience at the Liberty Stadium will be massively improved by new big screens. With more people reading the Evening Post than any other newspaper in Wales, the South Wales Evening Post will prove a major ally in allowing us to spread the word about our wide ranging community activities as well as our on and off-field successes in 2014/15.”

The new Ospreys jersey, the first by BLK, will be unveiled at the Liberty Stadium and online at www.ospreysrugby.com and www.southwales-eveningpost.co.uk at 12.30pm on Friday 8th August.
