The Ospreys medical team have issued the following update on three players ahead of the return to PRO12 action in Italy this weekend.
Tyler Ardron
Tyler suffered his second knee injury of the autumn in Canada’s Rugby World Cup game against France at the start of October.
He underwent keyhole surgery last week before returning to the Ospreys and is looking at a best-case scenario of eight weeks before he will be able to return to playing.
Nicky Smith
Nicky injured ankle ligaments during the Edinburgh game and, although surgical intervention was not needed, previous experience of this kind of injury suggests that he is likely to be out for six to eight weeks.
De Kock Steenkamp
De Kock is struggling with a recurrence of an ongoing hip problem. We have sought specialist opinion and are currently discussing the best strategy to treat this problem moving forward.
