White appointment for OitC

Ospreys in the Community are delighted to announce the appointment of Nick White as an Employability Officer within the region.

With thanks to the National Lottery Community Fund, Ospreys in the Community are able to expand their team to extend their work within the region and engage with the wider community.

Nick joined on Monday, linking up with employability co-ordinator, Dorian Evans. The pair will work together to deliver the TACKLE programme across the region, which works with people aged between 12-24 who are either NEET (Not in employment, education or training) or at risk of becoming so.

Nick has worked within various organisations outside of the rugby environment and will bring with him new ideas to strengthen the education pillar of our charity foundation by delivering high quality sports and educational activities.

Nick is currently one of our U16s age-grade coaches so is no stranger to the region. He also brings with him an extensive background within a coaching environment, having coached Ospreys U18s Women and winning the U18s regional women's championship with the side, and also the Ospreys Women.

Speaking about his new role, Nick said:I’m delighted to have joined the ‘Ospreys in The Community’ team. Having coached regional age grade rugby at the Ospreys over the past few seasons, I have seen the OITC brand grow and grow which is fantastic - it’s great to become a part of that growth. I think the projects we offer are second-to-none, and they are evidently having a positive impact on the community. It’s great to see that we are giving the young people of the Ospreys region clear educational and personal development options, and by combining an engaging educational and rugby programme, we are seeing improvements in their self-confidence, self-esteem, school work and employability skills.”
