Ospreys season members are being offered the opportunity to enjoy matchday in luxury this season by signing up for the 2003 Supporters Lounge.
New for 2012/13, the 2003 Supporters Lounge is situated in the West Stand at the Liberty Stadium and is a dedicated area for Ospreys season members, allowing supporters to meet and mingle with likeminded fans in plush surroundings pre and post match.
Run by the Ospreys but officially hosted for us by the OSC, the 2003 Supporters Lounge is perfect for relaxing with family and friends, allowing you to soak up an old school rugby atmosphere and really enjoy the best that the home of the Ospreys has to offer.
To access the lounge, season members will be required to pay a one-off additional membership fee of just £99, which will give you the following benefits for the entire season:
· An exclusive 2003 Supporters Lounge Pass
· Get closer to the action with an Ospreys player Q&A pre-match
· Full pay bar facility and the option to purchase hot and cold food
· OSC hosted entertainment including guest speakers, entertainment and music acts
The 2003 Supporters Lounge will be open for every home game at the Liberty Stadium, and will run in conjunction with the Supporters Village pre-match and the Riverside Lounge in the East Stand, as well as our formal hospitality offerings, increasing the options available to all supporters on a matchday, with something to suit every taste.
There will be a free ‘try before you buy’ Open Day offer at the first home PRO12 game of the new season, when the Ospreys entertain Ulster at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday 8th September, where any current season member potentially interested in purchasing a 2003 Supporters Lounge membership but wanting to find out more and to try the experience can register for a day pass for FREE (limited to first 150 people).
Yarnie Guthrie, Commercial Manager at the Ospreys, said:
“Over the summer we’ve looked long and hard at the options available to supporters at the Liberty Stadium on a matchday, and at ways that we can improve the matchday experience for everyone.
“The OSC have done a fantastic job making the Riverside Lounge their home and the atmosphere in there after every game is great – it’s been so successful that in the end of season run-in it was at capacity with some people disappointed and unable to gain access.
“At the other end of the scale we have launched the Ospreys Executive Club, improving our hospitality offering, and the response has seen considerable uptake. What has become clear is that there is a big gap between the Village and the Riverside, and our hospitality offerings, for the average supporter who holds a season membership and may appreciate a touch of comfort pre and post-match with the family but doesn’t want full hospitality, and this is where the 2003 Supporters Lounge comes in.
“Hosted for us by the OSC, it is a place for just that kind of supporter, where they can enjoy the same rugby club atmosphere they get in the Riverside, in the comfort of hospitality, in the company of other proud Ospreylians. We are excited about our new offering and are working hard in partnership with the OSC to develop something that we believe will become popular with fans young and old.”
Mike Phippen, Chairman of the OSC, said:
“In just two years, with the support of management at the Ospreys, we’ve been able to create something in the Riverside Lounge which is the envy of not only the fans of other regions but most supporters clubs that we meet throughout the season, something we are hugely proud of, and the intention is that the post-match atmosphere there will be as big and successful this season as ever.
“However, we have been speaking to the Ospreys about other ways that matchday at the Liberty can be improved, and clearly there is demand for something extra which is where the 2003 Supporters Lounge comes in.
“This year we’ve got 9,000 plus members and with the best will in the world we aren’t going to fit them all into the Riverside. What we can do though is work with Ospreys management to host the 2003 Supporters Lounge on their behalf and help to deliver something that becomes equally as popular with supporters, and we are looking forward to doing just that throughout the coming season.”
