After announcing a new partnership with national children’s charity Action for Children, we’re delighted to kickstart our fundraising efforts with a challenge for April.
To launch the start of the new partnership, the two charities are teaming up for the “30 Days your way” challenge to help support the 30% of children who are living in poverty in the UK, proudly supported by Philtronics Ltd.
We’re aiming for participants to raise £150 each to help tackle child poverty in Ospreylia. All you have to do it walk, run, swim or cycle your way to 30 miles in the month of April for the “30 days your way Challenge.”
30% of children are living in poverty in the UK. With unemployment rising and furlough coming to an end, even more families face financial hardship. The pandemic is having a devastating impact – and vulnerable children are paying the price. But it doesn’t have to be like this.
Jog or stroll a mile a day, go for a couple of long bike rides, or jump in the pool and get swimming. How you tackle this fundraising challenge is completely up to you – as long as you hit 30 miles by the 30th April.
Not only will you boost your fitness, you’ll raise money to help us give vulnerable UK children a safe and happy childhood. Raise £150 and you’ll receive a free Action for Children t-shirt!
April is nearly upon us, so don’t miss out, sign up today here.
Area Fundraising Manager for Action for Children in Wales, Nina Rice, said: “I’m absolutely thrilled we are teaming up with Ospreys in the Community for our 30 Days Your Way fundraising initiative where we’re asking people to walk, run, cycle or swim 30 miles this April for many of the vulnerable children we proudly support together.
“This vital fundraising drive, aimed at highlighting that 30% of children in the UK are currently living in poverty, cements our partnership that is already flourishing with the delivery of our key mental health programmes, Bouncing Back and the Guide, for children around the schools and rugby clubs in the Ospreys region. We are doing pioneering work for children and young people that have suffered disproportionately during this pandemic and I hope as many people as possible join us to do 30 Days Your Way.”
