Young second row, Adam Beard, is set to miss the end of season run-in due to injury.
Medical Performance Manager, Chris Towers, confirmed the news today, after checking out the injury that 21-year old Beard picked up last Friday night in the Zebre match. He said:
“Adam sustained a significant elbow injury last weekend. We’ve had it scanned, consulted with elbow specialists at Spire Cardiff and, at this stage he’s looking at a likely lay-off in the region of three to four months.”
There was also bad news for another young lock, 19-year old James Ratti, who featured in all four Anglo-Welsh Cup matches and was named in the Wales U20 squad for the Six Nations. Towers continued:
“James injured a shoulder in the Wasps match two weekends ago and is looking at a best case scenario that he will be sidelined for a further four to six weeks.”
