This Friday Logan Lockett from our OitC Inclusive Community Club will have the honour of presenting the BKT Player of the Match Award as Ospreys face Leinster at the Swansea.com Stadium.
As part of URC Origin Round we're celebrating the local clubs and individuals that are the back bone of rugby in our community.
Logan was born at 34 weeks and 6 days and was extremely fragile. He was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy at 19 months old.
His family encourage him to do as many independent activities as he can to build his strength and to make him feel included. Logan has been swimming since he was 6, but his family felt he needed more help in the pool. Upon enquiring about 1 to 1 sessions, they were told about Level Water which led him to become the Welsh Champion for back stroke in 2024. Logan is now hoping to compete in the Paralympics!
As well as swimming Logan was keen to try rugby, but found mainstream sessions a bit too hard. He then found Ospreys in the Community Inclusive Community Clubs! He's now a regular member every Sunday and loves playing rugby with new friends and his favourite OitC coach Charlie. He's been a part of the team since he was 8 years old and his confidence and rugby skills have flourished.
Logan's family have had some fantastic opportunities via the ICC, including watching Ospreys play, training and making friends at ICC, and meeting Logan's favourite Ospreys players. We can't wait to see Logan hand over the Player of the Match medal tomorrow - hopefully to an Ospreys player!
