On October 4th staff from Ospreys in the Community and Ospreys Rugby will be sleeping out at the Liberty Stadium to raise money for a joint programme with Action for Children to combat Youth homelessness and raise awareness of Mental health within our community.
Individuals and companies are invited to join us for the first Swansea Byte Night, a great opportunity to network, take part in a unique team bonding experience, and make a real difference by giving those at risk of homelessness a brighter, more stable future. Byte Night is the UK’s largest corporate sleepout, with individuals and teams sleeping rough to raise vital funds to prevent youth homelessness. It all began in 1998 when 30 individuals slept out in London and raised £35,000. Since then Byte Night has grown to 12 events and nearly 1,500 people sleeping out in 2018. It is now one of the UK’s top 20 mass participation charity events and has raised over £12 million so far.
Ospreys in the Community and Ospreys Rugby are delighted to be hosting the first ever Swansea Byte Night, at the Liberty Stadium, in collaboration with Action For Children and our partners and friends at Philtronics Ltd, and we would love to see more local businesses and individuals join in to help us raise money for this fantastic cause.
Simon Pritchard for Philtronics Ltd said; "Here at Philtronics we're delighted to be working with the Ospreys to bring the first ever Byte Night to Swansea. I slept out in Cardiff at last year's Byte Night Cardiff and it was such an eye opener for me that I had to bring it to Swansea this year. The aim of Byte Night is to raise awareness of youth homelessness in Wales and I'm hoping other businesses in the area will join the Philtronics team and the guys at the Ospreys in sleeping out at the Liberty Stadium on 4th of October to raise valuable funds for Action For Children".
On the night we will be watching the Ospreys vs Leinster game with some refreshments, raffles and games to raise money before we head out to the Liberty Stadium Car Park. Our target is to raise £25,000 by next March so please get involved if you can – it will make such a big difference to youth homelessness across our region.
