After helping Canada to victory over Glasgow in Nova Scotia on Saturday, Ospreys wing Jeff Hassler is back in action on Wednesday as Canada face Georgia in Esher, after arriving in England on Monday.
In total, there are nine changes to Wednesday’s lineup from the team that beat the Warriors 19-12, but Hassler continues on the wing.
It’s been a busy summer for the Canadians having played four matches in the Pacific Nations cup, three of which were held on Canadian soil. They followed that up with a test match against the USA in Ottawa on August 22nd before Saturday’s match against the Warriors.
Wednesday’s game, a non test fixture, provides Canadian coach Kieran Crowley with another opportunity to assess his squad as he looks to pin down his starting XV for the World Cup opener against Ireland on September 19 at Millenium Stadium. Georgia possess a number of threats but specifically in their pack, where they are one of the world’s most dominant.
Canada will also play on Sunday against Fiji at the Twickenham Stoop, meaning Canada will have played three games in eight days in its final tune up before facing Ireland to open the eighth edition of the RWC.
