With another Welsh derby just around the corner, we took our usual look at the players to keep an eye out for during the game.
From a flanker that’s been a turnover machine this season to one of the best attacking fly-halves in rugby, here’s the Cardiff edition of Ones to Watch.
Thomas Young
Thomas Young picked up MOTM against the Dragons on Boxing Day and it was clear to see why. A standout moment included a top tackle on Dragons’ no.8 Moriarty and a move straight to his feet to win the ball in the ruck. Highlights like that one against the Dragons are exactly why he leads the BKT URC in turnovers.
Jarrod Evans
One of the most debated topics in Welsh Rugby is who will take up the no.10 slots in the next Welsh squad. Evans is certainly in the conversation. The Cardiff fly-half loves a show and go and has a lethal sidestep to back it up. Couple great footwork, with great kicking, and you get the BKT URC’s second highest points scorer this season.
Josh Adams
An obvious addition to the Ones to Watch, Josh Adams has been lighting up the wing for Cardiff and Wales for several years. Adams is an elite level finisher and will punish any team that leaves too much space out wide. He popped up with a try against the Dragons on Boxing Day and will be wanting to do the same against the Ospreys. Adams did go off against the Dragons though so there may be a possibility he doesn’t feature.
