Ospreys Rugby are looking to recruit a full time Assistant Strength & Conditioning coach to join the existing Strength and Conditioning Team ahead of the 2019/20 Season.
The successful candidate will be responsible for in consultation with the Head of S & C, the daily delivery of weight training, conditioning, running, rehabilitation and recovery programs, predominantly aimed senior long-term injured players and Junior Academy.
The role includes a wider responsibility to co-ordinate via planning and strategy within the rugby management team (Coaching/Medical/Sports Psych/Nutrition/Interns/University). The applicant should be competent at programming using evidence-based methodology, also demonstrating an understanding of the practical application of the methods.
The post holder will get the opportunity to manage pathway coaches and a student internship in partnership with local universities, this responsibility presents a valuable mentoring opportunity and management experience.
The successful candidate will require at least 2 years background in professional sport/rugby and be competent at coaching and demonstrating movements patterns, running mechanics and lifting techniques.
