After clinching the Reebok title in December (picture of captain Ben Howe holding cup alongside team mates), coaches Phil John and Andrew Millward are tasked with developing a group of players to continue their success next season.
Unfortunately last week (30th January) a number of players were exposed to Regional rugby for the first time and they found the pace and intensity of the game to be far greater than anything they had experienced previously. In their game with the Scarlets at Kidwelly RFC they were well beaten by 24 points to nil. However, former Wales Schools centre Ben John (pictured leading the way on an assault course) was certainly the player of the night and put in a performance to remind the under 18 selectors that he is waiting in the wings. Next up for John and Millward is a fixture with the Welsh Schools under 16 squad at Kidwelly RFC on Friday 6th February, kick off 6.30pm. They have gone for an under 17 team that is selected from the under 18 and 16 squads; this will give them a further chance to run their eyes over talent for next season. Team selected is: 15.
