The race for the Welsh Shield is on. With the season nearing an end, we took a look at the Dragons to prepare you for our next BKT URC fixture.
Dragons RFC have lost each of their last eight BKT URC matches after winning; it is their longest losing run in a single season since losing their last nine games of the 2016/17 campaign.
Despite what seems to be a bad run of form, the stats suggest something different to the results. The team have been amongst the league leaders in territory this year, only the Sharks have averaged more territory per game than them in the BKT URC.
The Dragons have also won as many counter ruck turnovers as any other team and the joint-most interceptions. They also have the highest lineout win percentage on their own ball in the league (90%).
On the not so good side of their stats, Dragons RFC have the lowest rate of scrum success on their own ball in the league and conceded a league-high 13 penalties on their own feed.
Struggling to cover the backfield successfully, Dragons have conceded the most 50/22s in the BKT URC.
