The Ospreys can today confirm that fullback Dan Evans has received a 4-week suspension following a disciplinary hearing on Wednesday 11th December, 2019.
Evans was shown a red card by Irish referee Frank Murphy in the first minute of the Heineken Champions Cup game against Racing 92 for dangerous play, when his boot made contact with the head of opposition winger, Teddy Thomas.
Dan White (England), Chair, Gordon Black (Ireland) and Marcello d'Orey (Portugal) were the independent Disciplinary Committee for the hearing, which took place in London.
Fullback Evans was deemed to have contravened World Rugby law 9.12.
Under World Rugby's Sanctions for Foul Play, Law 9.12 relating to kicking carries the following sanction entry points - Low End: 4 weeks; Mid-range: 8 weeks; Top end: 12 to 52 weeks.
Evans will be eligible to play against Saracens on January 11th at the Liberty Stadium.
