Two Ospreys fans enjoyed the trip of a lifetime last weekend as they jetted off to Paris to watch their favourite rugby team play against Stade Francais at Stade Jean-Bouin. Ospreys bosses treated the pair to the trip after they won the ‘Magic Seat Competition’ at Liberty Stadium during the previous match between the two sides back in October.
Peter Derges, a season ticket holder at Liberty stadium, was the lucky winner whose seat number was drawn out of the hat by Gavin Henson – entitling himself and a friend to enjoy their own ‘Grand Slam’ type experience in France.
Peter, accompanied by his brother John, flew from Cardiff Airport with Air Wales on Friday morning for their weekend stay in Paris, were they were treated to tickets for the match and two nights in Paris.
Despite the disappointing result on the field, the pair had a thoroughly enjoyable time in the French capital. Peter said: “I have been to Paris before but never to watch a rugby match. I never miss the Ospreys home games and so it was a special treat to experience rugby in a foreign climate. Hopefully the Ospreys will pick up enough wins in their remaining games to ensure Heineken Cup qualification, so we can do it again next season.”
