Ma’afu Fia is set to go head to head with his Ospreys colleagues next month after receiving a call-up to the Tonga national squad.
The Tongans have three fixtures in November, against French Barbarians in Bordeaux on Saturday 10th November, Wales at the Principality Stadium the following Saturday and Georgia in Tbilisi on Saturday 24th November.
Born in Tofoa, Tonga, 28-year old Fia has played 61 times for the Ospreys since signing from Super Rugby side Highlanders, arriving in Wales in October 2015 and making his debut against Zebre in the December.
Fia is one of five new caps in the Tonga squad and coach, Toutai Kefu, said he's had his eye on him for a while:
"We've been chasing him for the last 12-18 months and for some reason he's always been unavailable so for him to finally commit, yes, it’s great to have him.”
