Future Looking Bright For David Bishop

Ospreys centre David Bishop launches his comeback in the new rugby season. The Ospreys are happy for David to play at Bridgend, with the hope that they can help springboard his career back on track.

''We are delighted to see David Bishop back playing rugby again, he"€™s a young man with talent who has been hampered by injury over the last two years.'' said the region's director of rugby, Kevin Hopkins, who stressed that the Ospreys would still hold Bishop's contract.

''There is no way you can simply throw a player back into regional rugby following such a serious injury.

''He is a talented player and we are delighted to see him back, but we owe it to him not to expect too much too soon.

''At Bridgend, too, there will be plenty of opportunities for games and plenty of chances for David to get back up to speed.''

Brian Downey, the Ospreys Physiotherapist said "€œDavid"€™s commitment to his rehabilitation over the past year and a half has been outstanding; he has been really diligent during the long recovery process and the way he has stayed focused just shows his determination and hunger to get back playing for the Ospreys."€

''If ever a player deserved some good fortune, it is David,'' added Hopkins.
