Match Highlights of Ospreys v Glasgow in the 2008-2009 Magners League.
The Ospreys defeated Glasgow Warriors in their last home match of the season at a sun soaked Liberty Stadium this afternoon.
The Ospreys lineup for the Ty Hafan Benefit match included Lions duo Shane Williams and Alun Wyn Jones. Jamie Nutbrown started at scrum half while Gareth Owen slotted in at fullback in place of the rested pair of Mike Phillips and Lee Byrne. Sonny Parker started at outside centre after returning from injury.
Glasgow scored the first try after just 4 minutes. Winger Lome Fa'atau created an overlap to allow Bernado Stortoni to race over the line. Outside half Ruaridh Jackson added the conversion to give Glasgow an early 7 point lead. The Ospreys struck back with a Filo Tiatia try after a break by Shane Williams. James Hook converted to bring the sides level. A Jackson penalty put Glasgow back in the lead for a few minutes before four James Hook penalties in quick succession gave the Ospreys a 9 point advantage. Glasgow centre, Max Evans, split the Ospreys defence to set up a try for Fa'atau in the corner. Jackson missed the conversion. The Ospreys then hit back with a try just before half time. A strong run from James Hook drew in two Glasgow defenders which allowed Gareth Owen to dive over. Hook missed the conversion leaving the Ospreys with a 24-15 lead at half time.
A Jackson penalty reduced Glasgow's deficit early in the second half before Hook struck back soon after with one of his own. Glasgow replacement Justin Va'a was sin-binned for killing the ball and from the resulting scrum, Ospreys scrum half Jamie Nutbrown weaved his way under the posts to score. Hook converted to give the Ospreys a 16 point lead. Glasgow hit back deep into injury time with a second try for Fa'atau, which was to be the last play of the match.
