For all those travelling up to Watford this weekend, please take the time to read the following important information to help ensure that all runs as smoothly as possible!
IMPORTANT TRAVEL INFORMATION - SARACENS v OSPREYS With all our 4500 tickets already sold, we are anticipating a significant company of Ospreys Supporters heading up to Vicarage Road for the our all-important fixture against the Saracens on Sunday 6th April. As many of you may already be aware, Vicarage Road Stadium is situated in the middle of a housing estate in Watford, which means parking & travel requires careful coordination. The Hertfordshire Police Department have put together a comprehensive plan of action for this, and we've outlined below their plans for your information below. WE WOULD ASK AT THE OUTSET THAT ALL OSPREYS SUPPORTERS DO THEIR BEST TO COOPERATE WITH PLANS AS OUTLINED BELOW. FOR THOSE TRAVELLING BY COACH For those travelling by coach to this match on the M25 eastbound (from the M4 direction), coaches will leave the M25 at Junction 19. This is a long slip road which will take coaches to 'Hunton Bridge' roundabout.
From 9:30am, there will be Police Motorcyclists at this location to assist all buses for the remainder of the journey to Vicarage Road Stadium. The motorcyclists will take coaches to the stadium in batches. Once at the Stadium all passengers will alight. Once empty, Motorcyclists will take the coaches to where they will be parked for the duration of the game (drivers will have to remain with the coaches).
During the second half, coaches will be brought back to the Stadium in batches of 20 at a time and parked outside Vicarage Road Stadium. Once the coaches are loaded at the end of the game, they will be taken to the M25 Junction 19. Once the first 20 coaches are loaded and leaving, the next batch will arrive at the Stadium for loading and so on until all coaches are loaded and taken to the Motorway network. Please therefore be advised that, except for the first 20 coaches, there will be a delay for the rest to be returned to the Stadium (police can only deal with a maximum of 20 coaches at a time outside the Stadium).I understand that there are some coaches travelling to the area on the Saturday and the supporters are staying in Local Hotels. It is expected that these coaches will make their own way to the Stadium from the Hotels where they will be met by Motorcyclists, and once unloaded will be taken to the Coach Park. The same process will be followed at the end of the game.
We seek your assistance with this so the day can run as smoothly as possible. It is appreciated that there will be a delay for some, as the police can only safely deal with a maximum of 20 coaches at a time at the end of the game. The police will endeavour to get this process completed as quickly as possible. For this to happen, the police have requested that supporters return to the coaches as quickly as possible after the game otherwise this will delay the whole operation and your return journey. FOR THOSE TRAVELLING BY CAR PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE WILL BE NO STREET PARKING IN THE AREA IMMEDIATELY SURROUNDING THE STADIUM, AND PARKING ENFORCEMENT WILL BE RIGOROUS. Fans who haven't pre-booked any parking are encouraged to use car parks at West Herts College (Hempstead Road Campus), Town Hall, Avenue or the Harlequin. Centre car parks. Please download the document below for a clear map of matchday car parks within walking distance of the stadium. Please be aware that we expect Vicarage Road to be closed to all traffic from 10am on Sunday.
We are being told by the Saracens to encourage all supporters to arrive EARLY (stadium bars/kiosks open from 10:30am). Be sure to park with sufficient time for a short walk to the stadium. Please visit the following links for further information: http://www.saracens.com/match-day/directions.php http://www.saracens.com/match-day/parking.php http://www.saracens.com/match-day/facilities.php We trust this is all clear, but should you have any specific query further to the above, supporters can contact Sgt Eddie Matthews of the Hertfordshire Police Department on 01923 472585. FOR THOSE TRAVELLING BY PUBLIC TRANSPORT With the expected sell out crowd and the high number of fans traveling into the area, where possible those attending the game are asked to travel to the stadium by public transport. Watford Met Line and Watford Junction Stations are a short walk from the ground. Again, please see the map below.
