Keelan Giles gives his thoughts ahead of another night under the floodlights.
Despite a difficult opening day defeat to Ulser, the mood in the Ospreys camps remains high as the squad look to bounce back against Leinster this weekend. OspreysTV spoke to winger Keelan Giles at Llandarcy Academy of Sport earlier this week to get his thoughts on another trip across the Irish Sea.
Giles started by giving his verdict on Ulster: “It was a tough game, especially after losing so many key players in key positions and losing Luke Morgan to 2 yellows. It was tough but we have to dust ourselves off. We’ve got a big game this weekend and all focus is on Leinster.”
When asked about the World Cup absences, he added: “We’ve got George [North] and others away on international duty. It’s a bit of an opportunity for all our wingers after a big summer and big pre-season to really put our name down for that shirt.”
As the questioning turned to the Ospreys' game against Leinster, Giles said: “Everybody knows how strong Leinster are. No matter how many internationals they have [at the World Cup], they have quality in and around their squad. It’s going to be a big game, we just need to prep now and give it our best shot on the weekend.”
“We are probably going into the game as underdogs and you can’t underestimate the power of being underdogs. There’s probably a little less pressure on us rather than Leinster so hopefully that can swing it our way.”
The Ospreys travel to Dublin for a Friday night fixture against Leinster. With Keelan starting on the wing alongside Luke Morgan, the pair will look to bounce back against the six time champions at the RDS Arena.
