This weekend sees the Anglo-Welsh Cup return, with the Ospreys again hitting the road as they welcome Bristol to the Bridgend Ford Brewery Field on Saturday afternoon (3pm KO).
The Ospreys go into the next two weekends of competition at the top of a keenly contested Pool 2, following a narrow bonus point loss to Harlequins at St Helen’s before a thumping five try, bonus point win over Cardiff Blues at BT Sport Cardiff Arms Park a week later.
After Saturday, the Ospreys round-off their campaign with a visit to the Ricoh Arena, Coventry, to play Wasps on Sunday 5th February at 3pm.
As you may, or may not be aware, the format for the Anglo-Welsh Cup runs differently to other competitions and teams do not play the others in their pool. Instead, each four-team pool goes head to head with another, providing four games on a two home, two away, basis.
The teams in Pool 1 play the teams in Pool 4 once and the teams in Pool 2 play the teams in Pool 3 once.
In Pool Two, just two points separate the Ospreys in first place on six points, and Sale at the bottom on four. Sandwiched in between are Exeter Chiefs and Worcester Warriors both on five points.
The pool winner will progress to the last four, ranked in order of points gained in the pool stage, with the semi-finals played on weekend of 10/11/12 March 2017 and the final a week late on Sunday 18 March 2017 at Twickenham Stoop.
Tickets for the game at Bridgend Ford Brewery Field on Saturday are available to buy now, priced at £12 (adults), £10 (concession) and U16s go free. You can secure your tickets now at ospreysrugby.com/buytickets or on the gate on Saturday.
Season members are reminded that you will not be able to gain access with your membership card on Saturday. As per other previous matches at the Bridgend Ford Brewery Field, you need to collect a match ticket from the Liberty Stadium Ticket Office in advance.
