Junior Clubs Day - 1 week left to book

Clubs in the region have until Monday 17th February to sign up to be part of big day at the Liberty when Ospreys face Munster

The Liberty Stadium is gearing up to play host to hundreds of young rugby players and their families this month for the second Junior Clubs Day of 2013/14.

The RaboDirect PRO12 clash against Munster on Sunday 23rd February (KO 4.00pm) is designated as Junior Clubs Day, following on from two similar events last season, and the Welsh derby against the Dragons earlier this season, which have seen more than 50 clubs across the region represented.

A popular date in the regional rugby calendar, an open invitation has gone out to junior clubs the length and breadth of Ospreylia for them to come along and show their support for the cause as the Ospreys race for the PRO12 play-offs hots up.

Clubs taking part in the day will benefit from the fantastic clubs ticketing initiative which runs all season, allowing members to pay just £10 for adult tickets and £1 for children, for groups of 20 and over.

The initiative also allows clubs to take advantage of a special partnership between sports equipment manufacturer Gilbert and the Ospreys which allows participating clubs and schools to earn cash credit on every ticket purchased that can be used towards the purchase of brand new rugby and sporting equipment. Normally, that credit is worth 50p per ticket bur got Clubs Day they will receive double the value, at £1 per ticket.

What’s more, the Ospreys have teamed up with commercial partner Cymru Coaches to offer an unbeatable transport package for clubs who wish to travel to the game together. Cymru Coaches will bus you from the club to the Liberty and back again, making it even easier to enjoy first class rugby live, with the inclusive ticket and travel package costing £15 adults, £5 children for bookings of 20 or more.

All clubs who book through this initiative will also take part in a special half-time lap of honour around the Liberty Stadium pitch.

Andrew Hore, Ospreys Chief Executive, said:

“We are very much looking forward to another great occasion here at the Liberty with the return of Junior Clubs Day. We’ve always had a fantastic response from clubs in all corners of the region and are anticipating something similar this time.

“The addition for the first time of a transport option makes a fantastic deal even better, as we are even taking the strain out of getting to the stadium. Supporters can meet at their local club and be returned there post-match, where they will hopefully enjoy refreshments, putting much needed revenue over the counter at their club. With the ticketing initiative also offering a chance to earn Gilbert equipment, this is a fantastic way for club members to come together, support their region, and invest in their club.

“These youngsters are the future of rugby in this region and it’s vital that we nurture a sense of belonging in them, allowing them to feel that the Ospreys truly represents them and their community. Hopefully, Junior Clubs Day will help to ignite a lifelong passion for the Ospreys.”
