In the build up to the game we sat down with rapid winger, Keelan Giles to discuss his thoughts on the Montpellier Herault game and the importance of fans at big games.
Been a good few weeks for you and the boys, some big wins and a bonus point in the Leinster game. How do you reflect on the last month?
Yeah, really good. Since the win in Montpellier the boys have grown in confidence and performances have been a lot better. Obviously getting the Derby wins was massive and then obviously that holds us in good stead. We didn't come away with a win against Leinster but we’re in a good mood going into the game this week
A try for you against Leinster last week, looking to get on the scoresheet again this week?
Yeah, definitely! I’m just happy to be on the team sheet but it’s always nice to get a try. We didn’t get the win last week though and that’s the most important thing for me
Montpellier Herault will be tough opposition this week, what makes them such a strong side?
Yeah, they got some real star dust in that team. A lot of talent and they’re a big team, so it's going be a big physical challenge for us. But hopefully we can front up like we did against Leinster and put in a real good performance on this weekend.
You have the home advantage against Montpellier but it’s a late kick off. I'm guessing the boys will still be hoping for a good attendance. Do the fans make a big difference in a game like this?
Yeah massive. Obviously when you see them chanting, especially when they’re really loud, it does make a difference and gives you that extra little bit of energy and a bit of a buzz on the field.
Montpellier and Leicester back to back in Europe, big games. Do you enjoy these type of games against strong opposition?
Yeah, definitely. I think every player wants to sort of test themselves against the best when these two teams are pretty much right up there.
