With two home games to go in the battle for the play-offs, the Ospreys are offering all U16's the chance to watch the Ospreys in both games COMPLETELY FREE.
Benetton Treviso visit the Liberty Stadium on Saturday 31st March (KO 6.30pm), for a game that will see Adam Jones running out on home turf for the first time since committing himself to the region for another two years, and he’ll be joined by the remainder of the Ospreys’ Wales Six Nations squad as they return to regional action.
Then, Newport Gwent Dragons come to Ospreylia on Friday April 20th for Shane Williams’ farewell match, with children the length and breadth of the region encouraged to come along and pay tribute to a true Ospreys and Wales legend.
Ospreys Managing Director, Roger Blyth, said the move to offer free entry to all children at the two games was designed to encourage young rugby fans to come to the Liberty Stadium and experience first class rugby live following the excitement of Wales’ spring campaign, and also, to pay tribute to two true Ospreylians.
“There’s clearly a buzz around rugby in Wales at the moment given the performance of the Wales team at the World Cup and during the Six Nations” said Blyth.
“It’s important that as a region we tap into this feelgood factor. The nation has been united behind the Welsh team in recent weeks, with their success hopefully igniting a passion for rugby in another generation.
“With 11 players in the Welsh squad, the Ospreys have once again had the largest contingent of any team, with established internationals like Alun Wyn Jones, Ryan Jones and Ian Evans playing big roles and young players like Justin Tipuric and Rhys Webb making their mark. The Six Nations may finish this weekend, but supporters can still see their heroes in action, close up, at the Liberty Stadium. It’s going to be fantastic to welcome them back for the Treviso game, and we want as many people here as possible to help create the wonderful atmosphere we all know that Ospreys fans are capable of.
“It’s not just about welcoming back players from the national squad though. There is the serious business of securing a play-off place, while the two games also provide a wonderful opportunity to pay tribute to two Ospreys legends. The Treviso game will be the first time that Adam Jones will pull on a black shirt at the Liberty since signing a new contract, and we want our fans to make it clear how much his ongoing contribution to the region is valued. After that, the Dragons game will mark the end of an era, the last time that we get to see Shane in action at the Liberty before he hangs his boots up and knowing how much he is loved in Wales, by young children in particular, this kids go free offer will encourage as many as possible to come here and be part of a special occasion.”
Free kids tickets for the two games are available in all areas of the stadium, with up to four kids tickets available for each paying adult.
Tickets for the games are on sale now, with adult tickets starting at just £20, meaning that a family of five can watch both games for just £40. The offer will remain available until 48 hours before kick-off for the relevant fixture.
Please note that this special offer is not available online, tickets must be purchased in person at the Liberty Stadium Ticket Office or via the Ticket Hotline on 0844 815 6665.
