An August double header against old rivals, Leicester Tigers, has been confirmed today.
As was the case last summer, the Ospreys will kick-off their pre-season campaign with a home game against the Tigers before making the reverse journey to the East Midlands as the sides step up their preparation for 2017/18.
The Ospreylian leg of the double header will come first, with the Tigers visiting the Bridgend Ford Brewery Field on Friday 11th August, 7.30pm KO.
The return fixture will see the Ospreys heading to Welford Road on Friday, August 25, the final weekend before the new Guinness PRO12 season commences. Kick-off is at 7.45pm.
The two teams met in a similar double header prior to the current campaign, with two enthralling contests worthy of a rivalry that has seen many classic clashes down the years.
The Ospreys defeated Leicester 26-21 in the first leg at the Liberty Stadium, Sam Parry, Josh Matavesi, Dafydd Howells and Ben John with tries as they came from 14-0 behind to win.
At Welford Road it was even more dramatic as the Tigers won a 12-try thriller 42-38. Eli Walker (2), Tom Habberfield, Dan Evans, Hugh Gustafson and Howells, again, touching down, only two missed conversions separating the teams.
It will be the second time that the two teams have met at the home of Bridgend Ravens, the Ospreys coming out on top 46-13 in an LV= Cup tie in November 2010, the first time that the region had taken a game to the historic old venue.
Ticketing details for both games will be confirmed over the summer. Admission to the home fixture will be included in an Ospreys 2017/18 season membership.
An additional home pre-season fixture for the weekend of 18/19/20 August is planned and will hopefully be confirmed shortly.
