Ospreys supporters will get the opportunity to meet the players post-match at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday as they stay pitch side after the game to say thank you for your outstanding support.
It’s become an established Ospreys tradition for the final home game of the season to be rounded off in this way, and once the final whistle has been blown on what will hopefully be a famous Ospreys win, the squad will stay out signing autographs and posing for photographs, getting to know the people they represent when wearing the famous black shirt.
Supporters are encouraged to remain in the stands at the final whistle and, once post-match formalities have been concluded, the players will return to the field before joining supporters on the sidelines.
Saturday’s game is building up to be a huge occasion, with the Ospreys needing a victory against Ulster on the final day as they target sixth place and qualification for next season’s European Rugby Champions Cup. One of the largest crowds of the season is expected to be there, with the post-match signing rounding off a great family afternoon out at the Liberty.
The fun gets underway as early as 10am, at Llandarcy Academy of Sport, when hundreds of girls from across Wales enjoy the second Girlguiding Cymru Ospreys Day, with specialist rugby coaching delivered by Ospreys and Wales Women players, before they head across to the game.
The O-Zone, our child friendly activity area in the South Stand opens for business at 1pm, with turnstiles opening an hour later at 2pm.
As well as the Girlguiding Day, we are also welcoming the clubs from across the region who have qualified for this season’s Ospreys Cup finals, with
Bryncethin U15 and U16, Pencoed U15, Bryncoch U15 and U16, Swansea Uplands U16, Tondu U15, Cwmtwrch U16, Morriston U15 and Cwmavon U15 all joining us on the day and participating in a pre-match lap of honour.
At the end of the match, as outlined above, the players will be signing autographs, before attention turns to the Riverside Lounge, home of the OSC, where supporters of both sides are welcome to analyse the game in a traditional rugby club atmosphere over a drink or two.
There’s something for everyone on a match day at the Liberty so why not bring the whole family along?
