To Ospreys supporters,
All of us at the Ospreys welcome the decision by the Welsh Government to allow supporters back to watch professional sport from January 21st. The game is simply not the same without our supporters, so we are delighted.
We have been working hard today to find a solution to host 500 of our supporters at tomorrow’s Heineken Champions Cup fixture against Racing 92 at the Swansea.com Stadium, as per the guidelines.
However, having only 24 hours to prepare the stadium for your return has proved too short notice to provide the safe and welcoming environment you have come to expect for an Ospreys home game.
That means after much deliberation and discussion we have taken the difficult decision to play this weekend’s fixture behind closed doors. We will be in direct contact in the coming week with all season members and supporters who purchased tickets for the game to provide information on gaining a refund.
However, Toby and the team will have the support of all the Ospreys squad and their families at tomorrow’s game against Racing 92.
We look forward to welcoming you all back to support the team for our next home game against Edinburgh in the United Rugby Championship at the Swansea.com Stadium on Saturday, January 29th.
Thank you for your continued support.
Nick Garcia, Ospreys Chief Executive.
