MoM Tipuric thrilled with team performance

Justin Tipuric hailed the teamwork and defensive effort shown by the Ospreys in their victory over French champions Castres at the Liberty Stadium on Friday evening.

Tipuric, who returned to the squad a fortnight ago after Autumn International duty, was proud to be named Man of the Match but insisted getting a victory on the board in the Heineken Cup was more important:

"It's great to get the award but the most important thing to me is that we got the win to be honest. We have let ourselves, and the fans, down recently so it was massive for us that we beat Castres. It wasn't an easy match but it was a great team performance, together we worked hard and were able to come away with the victory. As Ospreys we pride ourselves on our defence and that's something we have been lacking recently. We have been training hard to fix this, and after building on last week's game I think the defensive effort today was outstanding."

After a game where the Ospreys points came entirely from kicks, the versatile forward admitted that the lack of tries recently had been frustrating but believes they will start coming soon:

"It's a work in progress, we know what we have to do and now it's just working to finish off that last pass or that last catch and cutting out the little basic errors. When that comes in I really think the tries will start flooding in".

With a break in Heineken Cup action until we welcome Northampton Saints to the Liberty in January, Justin and his team mates will now turn their focus to the PRO12 and the festive derbies. Commenting on this the 24 year old Wales and Lions player said:

"Hopefully this win will give us the momentum now to go in to the big derbies that we have coming up over the Christmas period. If we can carry on and learn our lessons from the last few weeks I'm sure we can continue with the wins and give the fans and ourselves a bit of pride."
