Number 8 Morgan Morris has extended his stay with his home region and signed a new two-year deal with the Ospreys.
Morris, 22, who stands at 6ft and weighs 16st and 5Ibs, has built a reputation as one of the most exciting backrowers in Wales.
An abrasive and dynamic ball carrier, Morris also has an ability to secure crucial turnovers. He played for Wales U20s during the 2017 and 2018 Six Nations.
Morris made his debut against Wasps in the Anglo Welsh Cup and has played 32 games and scored three tries for the regional rugby franchise.
Morgan Morris, Ospreys No 8 and Wales U20s, said:
“This is the best place for me, it’s my home club and we have new coaching staff, who have brought a whole new culture with them, and things are really starting to progress here.
‘Lots of us are mates at the Ospreys, we have grown up playing together and we all want to be a part of what is happening here.
“There is a real togetherness with this squad. Toby has really brought that in and it’s not just about the match day 23, it’s about the whole squad. Every player is treated the same, we are all getting on, we are all talking and enjoying being here.
“I just love playing for this team and I cannot ask for much more because I am getting an opportunity to do that. Playing rugby is what it is all about for me.
“The biggest positive for me has been that we are winning games and playing well and we are all comfortable with what we are doing, we just have to get better at it. Every training session here is competitive now and that is what we need.”
Toby Booth, Ospreys Head Coach, said:
“Morgan is another example of one of our own at the Ospreys. He is a dominant ball carrier and he is growing into his body and into his role in the team and is fast becoming a first team starter.
“He is an exciting talent with ball in hand but has also shown the impact he can have on our game in a defensive role.”
