Neil Navarra joins OITC as Fundraising Manager

Ospreys in the Community announced today that Neil Navarra had joined OITC as Fundraising Manager.

Ospreys in the Community, the charitable arm to Ospreys rugby, celebrates their 10th anniversary during the coming season, with the plan to become a sustainable and vibrant foundation that supports, empowers and engages with its community.

The appointment of Neil will help OitC to reach these aims, by working actively with local businesses, other third sector organisations and passionate supporters. Neil will be a key contributor in OitC’s commitment to not only sustaining, but growing their programmes, which mean so much to the surrounding communities.

Neil brings with him a wealth of experience in event management, brand association and a huge passion for rugby.

Speaking on his new role, Neil said: “I’m really pleased to be joining the OITC team, I’ve seen the reach and impact they have across the region and I’m excited to play a part in keeping the projects and programmes sustained.

“There’s a great team of people in the foundation, and we’re all working hard to make as big of a difference in our communities as we possibly can.”

Head of Foundation Tom Sloane: “We’ve been working really hard to enable us to make this key strategic appointment. We are extremely lucky to have such a passionate group of local businesses, individuals and supporters who have helped us through the last 10 years.  I’m excited to have Neil join the team and we believe he can play a key role in sustaining some of our life-changing projects, such as Sporting Memories and our TACKLE project.

“We have some exciting things planned for our 10th year as a charity and we want as many people as possible to join us, whether that be on our Ride2Rugby, our anniversary dinner or even joining our monthly lottery, it all goes such a long way.”

There will be some standout calendar events to mark the 10th anniversary, starting with a “Foundation Take Over” at the Swansea.com when the Ospreys take on the Bulls on the 12th October 7:35pm.

In January, OitC will be taking a group of 50 cyclists from Amsterdam to Paris over 380 miles, with a target of raising £80k. It’s the third annual bike ride and the biggest challenge to date!

For their official anniversary, OitC will be taking over the Swansea Arena on May 7th for a black-tie event to celebrate what’s been achieved and to take a look at what’s to come in the next 10 years.

OitC close out their events with a Home & Away Golf Series – they are looking for 40 passionate golfers to join them as they head to Villamoura in June as well as a more local golf day within the region.
