Giorgi Nemsadze has joined up with the Georgian national squad as their defence of their Europe Rugby Championship crown gets underway this weekend.
The experienced second row captained his country to a seventh title in eight years last season, winning five from five, and will no doubt be looking to repeat the feat this time around.
Their campaign gets underway in on Saturday afternoon (9th February) when Romania host the Georgians. The schedule then sees Georgia face Spain (H), Belgium (A), Germany (H) and Russia (A).
Georgia, who pushed Wales all the way at the Principality Stadium in November 2017 when the hosts held on at the death to win 13-6 in the first ever encounter between the two nations, have been drawn in the same pool as Wales at this year’s Rugby World Cup in Japan, alongside Australia, Fiji and Uruguay.
