New Role for Derwyn
The Ospreys today announced that Regional Rugby Manager Derwyn Jones' responsibilities within the Company are to change and expand
Derwyn’s role will involve managing regional policies and structures to further embrace the Ospreys Region as a whole and he will specifically look to develop a far closer interface with the Region's 72 Member Clubs
Comment from Managing Director Mike Cuddy:
"Derwyn has implemented professional structures and processes within the rugby arm of the business over the last 3 years which have helped to make us an efficient and respected operation. We now have a pressing need within our Region for one of our most senior managers to work far closer with our regional clubs and partners. We believe Derwyn is the right man for the job and feel that this move will help us develop stronger relationships throughout our region"
Comment from Derwyn Jones:
"I am delighted to be given this opportunity by the Directors to help develop the company brand within the broader Ospreys region. I intend to closely review policies and structures that directly affect our region's rugby teams and hope that with a greater emphasis on this area we will continue to drive the business forward. We have a 20,000 seat stadium and our mission has to be to fill it. Team operations have been a central part of my life for the past 3 years and I have enjoyed every minute, however, this role expansion is a step in the right direction for my personal career as I will now have a far greater responsibility within the regional structure and I see the appointment as fundamental to the future of Ospreys Rugby"
