Everyone at the Ospreys is deeply saddened to hear of the sudden passing of Andrew Wedlake, Chairman of Waunarlywdd RFC, over the weekend.
A devoted family man and esteemed figure of the rugby community, Andrew had a strong influence on countless rugby careers during his time at Waunarlywdd.
Many of those players have gone on to represent the Ospreys, including Nicky Smith, Keelan Giles, Mat Protheroe, Scott Otten and Nicky Thomas. Outside of the Ospreys, British and Irish Lion, Liam Williams came through whilst Andrew was a coach.
Andrew always placed a high importance on developing players from within the area as they understood the value of the community spirit at the club.
The Ospreys would like to pass on their condolences to the friends and family of Andrew, and everyone at Waunarlywdd RFC. He will be sorely missed.
