Ospreys in the Community were on hand to help at the Eastside rugby festival at Bonymaen RFC.
Following on from the success of the tournament in the Gower area, which is now in it’s 10th year, South Wales Police wished to bring the festival to the Eastside where rugby has strong roots.
Over 350 pupils from 15 schools took part in the day, organised by South Wales police. The pupils were able to experience a day full of rugby all whilst interacting and engaging with the local police and familiarising themselves with the local authority.
A further 17 pupils from Cefn Hengoed assisted on the day, and afterwards were presented with certificates and now WRU qualified rugby leaders.
Ospreys player, Rhodri Jones was on hand to present all winners and participants with their medals and trophies, and the winners were:
Plate winners - Ysgol Gynradd Gymraeg Tirdeunaw
Fairplay award – Ysgol Gynradd Pentre'r Graig
Tag Final winners - St Thomas Community Primary School
