23/24 was a big season for your Ospreys team on the pitch, and for Ospreys in the Community off it! It’s time to celebrate some of the incredible work that OitC have done this year to engage young people across our region in rugby, community, and social connection.
OitC sold 10,711 tickets to young people and community clubs across the region, making sure that professional rugby was accessible to everyone.
40 mini and junior teams played half-time tag at Ospreys games and definitely showed the boys a thing or too! Plenty of future Ospreys stars took the pitch, we’re sure.
28 teams formed a guard of honour for their Ospreys team, cheering them on from round 1 all the way to the BKT URC play offs. 152 teams were flagbearers, waving the Ospreys mask high to show their pride. We couldn’t do it without their help!
8 teams took part in a half-time parade to celebrate their successes, and we welcomed five touring groups to enjoy an Ospreys match. Our team is for everyone!
Ospreys in the Community also ran two pre-game festivals before our biggest fixtures of the season against Scarlets and Cardiff. 1000 young people took part, getting to play their own rugby on an Ospreys derby day. We’re sure their brilliant performances helped inspire the boys to two big derby wins!
In total, 2,927 young people took part in matchday activities and discovered the fun and friendship that rugby creates. We know that the fantastic work that OitC do around the stadium and in our community will have inspired each and every one to become an Ospreys supporter for life!
Thank you to all the OitC staff for their tireless work, and to all in our Ospreys community who support the incredible difference they make.
Tom Sloane, Head of OitC, says: “It’s been an incredible year for OitC. We’ve worked hard to engage young people from across our community and to make Ospreys Rugby inclusive and accessible to all. The efforts the team have made this year to deliver ‘More Than Rugby’ have made a huge difference to thousands of young people. We can’t wait to do it bigger and better next season!”
