Ospreys in the Community are delighted to announce that the Ospreys Supporters Club will be supporting the community team and our partnership with Action for Children as their chosen charity for the remainder of this season and next.
The two organisations have worked on projects for young people including “Bouncing Back” to support and improve the mental health and wellbeing of young people in secondary schools. The programmes and new partnership is fantastically supported by Ospreys Commercial Partners Philtronics Ltd.
Since launching "Bouncing Back", the team have worked with six secondary schools with 296 students completing the course. 140 of these were face to face learning with the aim of us returning to schools after the Easter holidays to engage with more children.
As well as this, OitC recently expanded its mental health partnership with Action for Children by adopting the charity’s Guide Digital mental health literacy platform.
The Ospreys Supporters Club have always played a key role in supporting the foundation, with supporters joining together to take part in fundraising events to help fund key initiatives throughout Ospreylia.
Community Foundation Manager, Tom Sloane said: “We’re delighted to be Ospreys Supporters Club’s chosen charity for this year and the season ahead. Supporters have always been hugely supportive of the community team and all of the programmes we have up and running. We are passionate about supporting our communities, schools and clubs and having the opportunity to work closely with Action for Children to help these vulnerable groups is a huge positive movement.
“We’re looking forward to working closely with the OSC in the future to showcase this partnership. Mental Health is a key topic and this funding will provide valuable support for young people.”
The OSC are already actively taking part in key events including our “30 days your way” challenge to help support the 30% of children who are living in poverty in the UK.
Whilst we’re unable to welcome supporters to the Liberty Stadium and the Riverside Bar for a matchday, the OSC are selling badges via their Etsy shop along with our very own Ospreys in the Community badge. All profits from badge sales as well as any further donations will go towards OitC.
