Gower College scored eight tries as they booked their place in the British Colleges Elite Plate semi-final against Filton College yesterday.
Gower secured a 46-13 victory away in Bristol, helped by Andrew Claypole who scored a brace of tries. Other tries came from Scott Otten, Lloyd King, Tom Dew and Aled Williams with Liam Popham and Ben Roberts also grabbing a try each while adding the extras between them.
Bridgend College lost 34-19 in the first live S4C broadcast of college rugby against Coleg Morgannwg yesterday.
Bridgend looked threatening when possession was secured quickly at the breakdown but Coleg Morgannwg had the stronger pack with a dangerous scrum and driving maul which granted them victory.
Quick ball enabled Bridgend to finish two tries out wide while they also scored a penalty try. Evan Yardley and Josh White scored the tries with White adding two conversions.
