SCOTStOUN STADIUM
1 MARCH 2025

Ospreys scored five tries in a huge performance on the road against reigning URC champions Glasgow Warriors, coming away with the bonus point win. It was a tight back-and-forth contest with Glasgow scoring to go ahead in the 79th minute, but a final penalty from Jack Walsh saw Ospreys clinch it at Scotstoun for the first time since 2016.

TRY FOR THE OSPREYS! The boys got off to a flyer! A series of Warrior penalties at the off gave Ospreys a line out on the five metres. Glasgow couldn’t hold off the maul, and Morgan Morse flew over for a score in the first three minutes. Conversion missed. Glasgow 0 - 5 Ospreys.

It was Glasgow looking dangerous next with quick hands from the backline looking like a certain score, but a brilliant scramble defence from Ospreys forced the home team into an error right on the try line.

TRY FOR THE OSPREYS! Ospreys were dominating in the scrum in the opening stages and another solid effort gave Morgan Morse the platform to run. He broke a tackle before offloading to Kieran Hardy, who rounded the last defender to finish superbly in the corner. Conversion missed. Glasgow 0 - 10 Ospreys.

Morsey looked an early contender for POTM, winning a vital turnover a few phases after the restart. The young number eight was playing well beyond his years.

TRY FOR OSPREYS! The boys went to the rolling maul again from a line out deep in Glasgow territory. It proved too much for the home team, and Sam Parry rolled over for our third unanswered try within twenty minutes. Conversion missed. Glasgow 0 - 15 Ospreys.

But, Glasgow answered right back. The home side won a penalty from the restart and Jack Mann rumbled over from the resulting line out to give Glasgow their first score. Conversion successful. Glasgow 7 - 15 Ospreys.

With just over five minutes to go in the first half, Glasgow continued to apply pressure. Some tenacious defence from Ospreys made it difficult, but eventually pressure paid off and Shickerling crossed. Keiran Williams and Dan Edwards were heroic in the attempt to hold it up, but a TMO check ruled the try good. Conversion missed. Glasgow 12 - 15 Ospreys.

BONUS POINT TRY FOR OSPREYS! The boys answered right back. Quick hands from Dan Edwards saw Keiran Williams break before delivering a perfect pass to Keelan Giles on the wing. Giles finished clinically in the corner and Dan converted a tough kick from out wide. Glasgow 12 - 22 Ospreys.

Despite only a few second remaining in the first half, the home side were able to get another try of their own to close the gap back to 3 points. A frantic first half of rugby!

HALF TIME: GLASGOW 19 - OSPREYS 22.

Play restarted with Ospreys continuing to dominate in the scrum and Glasgow responded with a full change in the front row three minutes in.

Chances were few and far between in the opening 10 minutes of the second half, with both teams’ opting to fight for territory through the boot. Ospreys began to ask questions of Glasgow defence and spent an extended period of time pressuring in the home team's 22. But the Warriors were eventually able to hold them out, turning the ball over in the maul from a line out.

The momentum swung back to the home team, who enjoyed their own period of territory and possession. With less than 10 minutes to go, Glasgow were able to cross in the corner and take the lead for the first time in the game. Conversion missed. Glasgow 24 - 22 Ospreys.

Ospreys fought desperately from the restart and finally a punchy break from MOTM Keiran Williams in the midfield put Kieran Hardy into space to cross. Jack Walsh converted. Glasgow 24 - 29 Ospreys.

With five minutes to go, Glasgow were awarded a scrum deep in Ospreys territory. The clock wound down as the scrum was reset several times, but eventually the home side won the penalty and kicked for the corner. It looked like it would be game over as McBeth crossed for Glasgow's fifth try in the 79th minute. Glasgow 31 - 29 Ospreys.

There were seconds remaining for the restart which was caught by Glasgow, but incredible pressure from Kasende and Tipuric won Ospreys the penalty with the clock in the red.

Enter Jack Walsh. He lined up the kick, struck it cleanly and delivered the winning penalty to the delight of his fellow players, visiting fans and everyone watching at home. Ice in the veins! Glasgow 31 - 32 Ospreys.

A win on the road and five points in the bag. What a night!
