Ospreys ‘Bring a Friend’ Scheme Proves Popular and Saves Pounds Across Ospreylia
Fancy paying a fraction of the price for an Ospreys Season Membership? Want to watch every home game with your closest friends or family?
That’s exactly what avid Ospreys supporter Gareth Perkins will be doing for the 2015/16 season of rugby. He got 75 per cent off his season membership by referring three friends, paying just £27.25 at the earlybird renewal price earlier this year.
Gareth told us: “My family are all huge Ospreys fans but like so many families, we are all busy with work and life, so we don’t get the opportunity to see each other as much as we’d like. My dad wanted to make sure we all had a regular family outing and I thought; why not the rugby?’
“A season membership seemed like a great chance for us all to get together regularly. I was already a season member so I referred my dad, brother and a friend.”
Existing season members are being offered the chance to watch the Ospreys for free in 2015/16 thanks to the new initiative aimed at rewarding loyal supporters while growing crowds. Under the ‘Bring a Friend’ scheme, for every friend a current member signs up they will get a 25 per cent discount on their season membership. With a maximum of four referrals allowed per person, this could potentially mean a season of free rugby at the Liberty Stadium for many supporters.
Gareth continues: “I didn’t know about the ‘Bring a Friend’ scheme until the ticket office member made me aware of the potential saving when I called up to renew. I renewed at £109 when the earlybird offer was still on and it’s worked out to just £1.94 per match – that's less than a pint!”
Chief Executive, Andrew Hore, said: “When discussing season membership packages for 2015/16, we had two clear aims; first to retain the existing members for next season, rewarding their loyalty and, second, to grow our membership numbers. We believe that our ‘Bring a Friend’ scheme will help us to achieve both those aims and we are delighted that Gareth and his family and friends have taken advantage of this offer.
“If supporters can take this ‘Bring a Friend’ initiative and really take advantage of the chance of big discounts or even a free membership, the growth in membership numbers and attendances could be huge. There’s still time before our next home game against Connacht.”
Gareth continues: “Watching the Ospreys matches as a family is the perfect opportunity for us to get together as well as enjoying an afternoon of live sport. This season, I am particularly looking forward to the Scarlets match as it always brings a strong crowd and a fantastic atmosphere.
“We will definitely be renewing for next season. My season membership is worth every penny and great value for money. There’s no where else can you buy a season ticket for such a low price.”
