We are excited to announce that First Cymru, the leading provider of bus services in South West Wales, has become the official schools partner of Ospreys in the Community (OitC).
The aim of this partnership is to support and expand the reach of OitC’s popular rugby and education provisions in schools across the region. OitC regularly champion the importance of youth involvement in sports, and this new venture with First Cymru will further their goal of promoting physical activity and fostering a love for rugby and education among children.
First Cymru, as the official schools programme partner, will offer unparalleled support in terms of logistics and transport, providing invaluable aid to our initiatives, especially in allowing more schools to participate in upcoming events and transporting teams to match venues.
Beyond match days, First Cymru is also committed to fostering the inherent values of rugby, such as teamwork, respect, discipline, and sportsmanship through their routes into education, work, and other aspects of daily life.
Tom Sloane, OitC Foundation Manager, said, "We are delighted to have First Cymru on board as our official schools partner. It is a fantastic opportunity to work together to further the development and participation of extra-curricular activities within our schools. OitC has the power to enact tremendous personal and social transformations for students and with the backing of First Cymru; we are better equipped to drive these changes."
The collaboration embarks upon a mutual journey of community development and youth empowerment with schools across Wales. First Cymru and OitC share the vision of building a robust regional rugby structure rooted in core values and life skills, which extends well beyond the rugby pitch and deep into the communities we serve.
Aled Williams, Marketing Manager for First Cymru, added: "We are thrilled to partner with Ospreys in the Community to promote and develop the initiatives they run in schools. This association will enable us to make a positive contribution to the communities we serve, beyond the service we provide on our buses.”
