Ospreys in the Community's 10th year!

From Ospreys in the Community’s inception in 2015, the mission has always been clear: to harness the power of the Ospreys & Sport to positively impact our communities.

We encourage and support people of all ages and abilities to make positive choices, with inclusion being the golden thread that ties together our work. We work to improve lives by collaborating on a range of programmes across our three core Pillars: Sport & Physical Activity, Health & Wellbeing, Education & Employability.

Within these pillars our projects vary, from our Defender Rugby Camps that inspire and train the next generation of rugby enthusiasts, to our educational programmes in schools and community centres, to our Sporting Memories project that helps people experiencing issues such as social isolation and dementia. We support our community no matter the stage of life they’re in and the first decade has been full of highlights.

  • Over 69,000 people engaged in our projects last year alone
  • 388,781 people engaged since 2014
  • 38,000 primary school children supported over 10 years
  • Over 40 current active volunteers, contributing over £50k per year in value
  • Award winning – WSA Collaborative award & Stephenson awards for supporting Young people’s mental health
  • We have raised £2.9m which has been reinvested into the community at a social value of £8.9m
  • We have grown to a team of 18 incredible people supporting our community
  • We are on our 3rd PHD study – Stride to Thrive, impact of sporting memories and one published around tackle Dr Emily
  • We have hosted 4 camps across Europe – including one for children of military families in Germany, and Belgium.
  • Looking to our next 10 years, we have some big plans and that all starts with a bumper year of fundraising events and community action projects.
