Coach Lyn Jones says the Ospreys have been given a fantastic opportunity to reach the Heineken Cup quarter-finals for the first time.
The Magners League champions have been drawn against Gloucester, Ulster and Bourgoin in next season's competition.
"This group is wide open. You've got four sound teams, but none with pedigree in the competition - although Ulster won it nine years ago," he said.
"I'm sure all the teams will think that it's all to play for." The Ospreys looked to be heading for the knockout stage of last season's competition before a late drop-goal in their penultimate game at home to Stade Francais opened the door for the French side to take top spot. Jones added: "We are learning what is needed to be successful in this competition and hopefully next year will be able to get past the group stage".
