Ospreys players have continued their Christmas tradition of visiting the children’s wards at Morriston Hospital, Swansea, and Princess of Wales Hospital, Bridgend.
Christmas can often be a tough time for families when their little ones are in hospital, so along with our premium partners, Westacres and Morganstone, the Ospreys were happy to try and help in any way they could.
The attendees were joined by Morganstone and Westacres very own Father Christmas with a few ‘sack loads’ of presents, advent calendars and sweets that were handed out to the children in the wards, all generously donated by the workers at the two companies.
All kitted out as reindeers and elves, the Ospreys squad were ready to lend Santa a helping hand and spread the festive cheer across the wards to bring some joy to the children over Christmas.
The children and their parents were able to have photos with Father Christmas and the Ospreys whilst also receiving autographed posters from the players. After the visits, the squad were delighted to present both Morriston Hospital and the Princess of Wales Hospital with a donation of £250 each to the children’s ward on behalf of Ospreys Rugby.
Ospreys player, Sam Cross, said:
“Nobody wants to spend time in hospital, particularly around Christmas, so if our visits can help to put a smile on the children’s faces, not to mention their families and the staff working hard on the ward all year round, then we are delighted to be able visit.
“We are fortunate enough to be asked to help out on so many different initiatives, but this is one that always makes a big impact on the boys, so a big thank you to Morganstone and Westacres for inviting us along.”
