Ospreys partners combine for world record

Two of the Ospreys commercial partners, OSTC FX and Euro Commercials, have come together to set a new world record, raising over £95,000 to help fund research into terminal children’s Alzheimer's.

The Niemann-Pick Research Foundation was the beneficiary of the NPJogle2015 team’s efforts, that saw a team of 12 run from John O’Groats to Land’s End in a non-stop relay, covering a combined total of 975 miles in just five days, 12 hours and 20 minutes.

Rob Brophy, Director of Trading at OSTC FX, a long-term commercial partner of the Ospreys, and front of shirt sponsor since the start of 2014/15, was among those who completed the phenomenal achievement, and thanks to the Ospreys, his team had the support of Euro Commercials, one of Wales’ leading commercial vehicle dealerships, and supplier of the region’s team kit vehicle for the last four years.

The two companies were introduced at the Liberty Stadium by Wayne Hall, Head of Sales at the Ospreys, resulting in Euro Commercials supplying the NPJogle2015 team with three Mercedes Vito vans to transport not just kit and support equipment, but tired runners as well.

A tired but delighted Rob Brophy said:

“It was great to have OSTC FX and Euro Commercials jointly supporting NPJogle2015 in its fundraising efforts for Nieman-Pick. Without their support we wouldn’t have been able to break the world record, or raise almost £100,000 for a great cause.

“They were incredible in terms of the support provided and we couldn’t have done it without them. Big thanks also go to the Ospreys for connecting us with Euro Commercials, enabling such a positive outcome.”

Rebekka Salway, Marketing Manager, Euro Commercials, added:

“Wayne Hall contacted me regarding the team, their fundraising and world record attempt, to see if we could provide any support.

“Euro Commercials are proud to have been able to provide the vehicles and aid the team in raising such a huge amount of money for Niemann-Pick Research, and their successful world record attempt.”

Wayne Hall at the Ospreys added:

“This is a fantastic achievement by Rob and the rest of the NPJogle2015 team, which everyone involved can be immensely proud of. We are delighted to have played a small part at the Ospreys, in facilitating the supply of vehicles via Euro Commercials, bringing two long-term commercial partners together.

“When you have a commercial partnership with the Ospreys it’s a two-way relationship, connecting you not only with Wales’ leading region, but with likeminded businesses, and whenever we see an opportunity for partners to work together, we do all we can to make that happen.

“Well done to Rob and the team, and a big thank you to OSTC FX and Euro Commercials for their ongoing support.”
