Due to increasing participation levels with four more teams signing up, the competition has now been expanded to two leagues for the coming season.
The Ospreys Senior School League was set up to enable players who have stayed in schools where there is a sixth form rather than go to college, providing meaningful competition and more rugby opportunities, encouraging greater participation at an age-grade where playing numbers traditionally drop off.
The comprehensive schools across the region are joined by the ‘A’ teams from the three colleges in the region, whose first teams compete in the WRU Colleges League, again, providing meaningful competition for more players in the region.
The growing popularity of the league has seen more teams sign up for 2015/16 than ever before and this season sixteen teams will participate, an increase from the twelve who competed last year.
Due to the increasing number of sides the competition will be split into two leagues of eight teams, with a play off at the end of the season in November.
