Due to an unprecedented logistical issues in the wake of the Ever Given blockage in the Suez canal, the Ospreys’ European players jerseys will not be delivered to the Liberty Stadium in time for their EPCR Challenge Cup clash with Newcastle Falcons.
Douglas Nurse, European Kit Coordinator, is frustrated with the situation, “It’s not ideal really, is it? But at the Ospreys we love a challenge, and I believe we have overcome the situation with some last-minute improvisation in keeping with the ethos of the club on and off the pitch.
“Using the captain’s links to the club, Trebanos RFC have kindly agreed to loan the Ospreys their first team kit for Saturday’s Round of 16 encounter against Newcastle. We’d like to thank the club very much for their generosity and we promise to return the kits washed, dried, and folded as a gesture of good will.”
Ospreys go head-to-head with Premiership side Newcastle Falcons this Saturday at the Liberty Stadium, KO 3pm. The winners of the clash will go on to face either Connacht or Leicester Tigers in the European Challenge Cup Quarter-final. Follow the action live on S4C and BT Sport.
Although the players won’t be able to wear the 2020/21 European kit on Saturday, supporters can still purchase the kit in our club store here.
