Young people from Hafod Primary School and Glyncollen Primary School attended the Liberty Stadium this week for a special event hosted by Show Racism the Red Card.
The pupils took part in an educational workshop to learn about the topic of racism delivered by education workers Christian Roberts and Chris Stokes.
The work didn’t start at the event for the young people. Prior to the day the pupils had the task to research the topic of racism and the history of racism in sport and society. This was in preparation for the afternoon’s Role play press conference at the event.
Ospreys players Andrew Bishop and Dmitri Arhip supported the event and were joined by Roberts, a former professional footballer, to take part in the role play media conference.
The pupils had pre-prepared questions and had researched racism in rugby and sport. Andrew Bishop and Dmitri Arhip shared their experiences and passed on advice to the young people.
Joe (Glyncollen) and Sioned (Hafod), both pictured below, won a signed Ospreys rugby ball and match tickets along with a SRtRC goodie bag for their questions in the press conference.
SRtRC would like to thank Hafod Primary school and Glyncollen Primary school for attending the event, the Ospreys including players Andrew and Dmitri for supporting the day.
