The Ospreys and Pronto CX have teamed up for an innovative first for rugby union promising to transform the fan experience through a digital wallet to give supporters a chance to win £500 worth of new Canterbury kit for 2020/21 season.
Pronto and Canterbury, the Ospreys official kit suppliers, have partnered up to enhance the supporter experience through cutting edge technology via contactless, mobile and digital wallet spaces.
Ospreys supporters can sign up to an exclusive ‘golden ticket’ competition to win exactly the same new Canterbury kit being worn by captain Justin Tipuric and Wales skipper Alun Wyn Jones for the team’s new campaign.
Dave Cedrone, Head of Sales & Services at Pronto said: “We are thrilled and honoured to bring innovative data acquisition, fan engagement and, above all, massive value to the Ospreys and their partner Canterbury. We look forward to carving a data driven path in digital retail and sponsorship in global sport.”
Competition participants will have up to five different chances to win the new Ospreys kit and will be notified directly through groundbreaking technology on their smartphones.
This cutting-edge technological step up, delivered through Google Pay and Apple Wallet means supporters can receive latest updates and exclusive offers from Ospreys and Canterbury through push notifications, in future.
This innovative way of connecting with Ospreys supporters helps us, and partners like kit providers Canterbury, break the mould in sports sponsorship and gives us an unprecedented insight into our supporters’ needs.
The technology goes beyond traditional, basic logo placement and exposure, to a completely app-free interaction to bring fans closer to the Ospreys and its partners and sponsors.
Sean Kavanagh, Global Director of Sports marketing for Canterbury commented;
“We are delighted to launch the new Canterbury Ospreys kit in such an innovative and exciting way which gives Ospreys supporters the opportunity to win prizes and receive exclusive offers. We look forward to seeing the Ospreys back on the pitch in the new kit and competing at the highest level”
Following on from the recent new partnership announcements with PumpJack Dataworks and Wave TV, this is a continuation of the recent Y11 investment and takeover and demonstrates the Ospreys commitment to leading the way in rugby union.
Paul Whapham, Ospreys Corporate Brand Director, sees this as another milestone in the region’s evolution:
“It’s a very exciting time to be an Osprey. There is lots of ambition throughout the organisation, on and off the field, and this is just the latest step in the new and refreshing direction in which we are heading. This is a new and modern way to bring supporters, the Ospreys, and our partners closer together.”
