Comment from Head Coach, Lyn Jones:
“The squad, coaching staff and team management have all reacted in a positive manner to the events of our last Magners league fixture in Ulster. We have now got things on track but our focus remains on improving our game and we will be looking to maintain our momentum over the coming weeks. Given we now have so many players hitting their stride each week gives me a selection dilemma of the type every coach I am sure would want to have.”
“Glasgow have a particularly effective kicking game and a desire to play rugby from all areas of the field and this should result in an entertaining fixture for the supporters. They are well led and have established Scottish internationals in key positions, which gives them the advantage of decision makers throughout the side. We are looking forward to the challenge they will present on Friday night.”
Injury and squad availability news
We have seven players not available for selection:
Andy Lloyd (medial ligament strain) hopes to be available for selection against Australia on November 1st and he has now commenced light training
Chris Martenko (shoulder reconstruction pre-season) should be available some time in November
Five players will not be available until 2007 – Richard Hibbard (shoulder), Matthew Jones (knee), Tim Evans (knee), Craig Mitchell (knee), and David Bishop (knee)
